BEAM has two freely-assignable LFOs and a Macro control. Modulators can be assigned by dragging and dropping modulators onto most knobs. If a knob cannot be modulated, it will not highlight when hovering a modulator over it. Once assigned, the modulation strength can be adjusted with the small knobs on upper left or right of the main control. Right click the small modulation knob to open a context menu for removing the modulation, or toggling the modulation between bipolar and unipolar modes.

<aside> đź’ˇ You can also toggle between bipolar and unipolar modulation modes by Shift-Option clicking on the small modulation knob.

Editing LFO Shapes

You can draw your own LFO shapes by hovering over an LFO visual and clicking the “Edit” icon. This will open the LFO editor where you can use a selection of tools to design a new LFO pattern.

Click to add a new point anywhere on the LFO editor. Clicking a point again will toggle between a straight and curved line. Right-click on a point to remove it. On the right side of the editor, there are curve tools for drawing diagonal lines up or down, curved lines up or down, or horizontal lines (useful for step sequencing). Set the grid lines for horizontal and vertical snapping with the value below the curve tools.

You can save your custom shapes by entering a new name in the text input at the top of the editor and then clicking the “Save” icon.
